SUBJECT/VERB AGREEMENT RULES:
Nouns and verbs are both parts of speech with number: they are written differently if they refer to a singular thing or if they refer to plural things.
RULE: Subject nouns and verbs in the same clause must “agree” – refer to the same number (singular vs. plural).
