ACT GRAMMAR
PARALLEL STRUCTURE RULES:
Parallel construction means keeping the structure of items in lists consistent (whether it is a list of words, phrases, or even clauses). The ACT expects students to be able to identify parallel structure errors and know how to correct them.
RULE: Phrase all items in a list using the same structure and, if possible, the same parts of speech.
