END PUNCTUATION RULES:
Ending punctuation rules are very simple as there are only three appropriate marks.
RULE: Use a period to end declarative and imperative sentences.

RULE: Use a question mark to end direct questions (even if they appear in quotes or parentheses).

RULE: Use exclamation points – VERY rarely – to end sentences which carry a great deal of emotion or excitement. They may also be used after heavily-emphasized interjections. Never use more than one.
